Identification

Machine model, serial number and build year, then the part number. Manufacturers revise components within a production run, so the model badge alone does not determine the part. A supplier that asks for the serial is doing its job; one that does not is guessing on your behalf. Confirm whether reman is sold with a core, and whether used parts are sold as-is.

For assemblies, ask whether the quoted item is the complete assembly or a component of it, and what else has to be replaced alongside it.
